Starting Questions 5/10/2016

What qualities do you admire in other people?
I really admire someone who's very strong-willed even in the most difficult situations. They never give up and keep on pursuing their goals and dreams.

What qualities do you hope to develop in yourself and why?
Nowadays I am struggling to enjoy a situation or being confident in myself without stressing out about it. I hope that during CAS, I could improve this quality in myself and to become more flexible and open minded. I tend to set my mind on one thing and don't change my thoughts or views about it. I also hope to explore my wonderment instead of keeping it on a tight leash, so I can learn more and take risks.

What do you enjoy doing?
Most of my enjoyments revolve around sports and active lifestyles. However, I also adore spending my time with books and friends. I enjoy expressing myself through art, music and dance. Adventures and curiosities thrill me, making me keen towards them. I have recently found a new interest which is getting to know myself in new ways.

What have you always wanted to do or learn how to do?
I have always wanted to take part in a martial arts or self defense class however my parents interests are different than mine.
Several times I started making a movie or small film with my friends but never have the time  or energy to finish one.
Since I was young, I have been eager to have a small adventure of my own while exploring the world independently.
Starting projects was never a problem, but ending them was. One of them is a small novel that I have prepared and wrote small sections and chapters for.
Last year, I have started developing a strong interest for astronomy. I would really like to spare myself one night just for star gazing and to learn more about it.

What challenges could you set for yourself as a part of CAS?
A definite challenge would be to become more independent. Another one would be to finish a project once I have started one. I would also challenge myself to try new things and risks, to get out of my 'comfort zone'.

What social issues are you particularly concerned about?
Over the years, I have grown a certain interest and awareness towards the fact that the human population is ruining and exploiting our planet. I really wish to in the future (or even now) do something about it.
Poverty is also an issue that really upsets me, especially in LEDCS. A trip last year to Kenya has definitely confirmed that and I hope to make aims towards fixing it one step at a time.

What activities would you move closer to these goals and interests?
Towards my environmental goal, I would move closer to a global activity; charities or foundations. I am very eager to start my action part of CAS, I would definitely start moving closer to sports that I have never done before.
