For my creativity project, I decided to learn a new language: Latin. With this project, I was to meet with my supervisor Mrs Aneta once a week. The aim of this particular project was
to learn the basics of Latin and some proverbs. I was given worksheets and exercises from 2 textbooks that were provided to me, one about Latin proverbs and the other (polish-latin) textbook with another workbook for exercises.

I was to learn 5 latin proverbs every week. After every lesson, I added more verbs to my flashcard deck to revise every so often.
Latin, as a language that is a founder of other languages, has enabled me to find connections between other languages that I already knew: Polish, Englis, and Spanish. Many verbs and nouns were similar to the other languages and allowed me to remember more. Conjugation of verbs also came a lot easier to me than I expected. However, as easy as Latin may seem to be, it was actually quite difficult for me to learn the rest.
I had a very hard time with different forms of nouns, when to use and them and etc. I often forgot the structure which caused me a very hard time in doing my exercises. Another difficult task for me was to read. Although my pronunciations were correct, it was very challenging for me to translate the text from Latin to Polish. I often had to call in for help from Mrs Aneta, and when she wasn't available I asked for help from one of my peers who has previously learned Latin as well. In order to improve my memory and recall of different words, I not only used flashcards but an app (Quizlet) as well that allowed me to add more flashcards digitally and performed games to help me memorize. This method was very helpful and effective.
Overall, I really enjoyed this project even though it was quite demanding. I would have continued in IB2 however, due to Mrs Aneta's maternity leave, my plans had to be cancelled. From time to time, I glance at my flashcards, trying to remember some words or proverbs. I even downloaded an app on my phone that provided daily latin proverbs to learn.
